Better, faster, cheaper--and easier. We all look for ways of making a job more of a pleasure and less of a chore. Of all the jobs we perform on Mustangs, trim work is one job that most enthusiasts tackle on their own. Seat covers, carpet and door panels seem to be easy pickings for the person wanting to just "spruce up the interior." But to install these items incorrectly can end up costing a lot more than time--it could end up ruining your new parts as well.
With common pitfalls in mind, we went out in search of the experts' methods for installing Mustang trim components and turned to the names you know for tips.
In addition, we have gathered several "Trick Tools" from different vendors like The Eastwood Company, GearBox Grannie's, Snap-On Tools, Mac Tools, Sears-Craftsman, and others. These are listed to show you what is out there in the tool world, how they are used, and whether you really need them or not based on our helpful usage scale ranked from 1 to 10; 1 being hardly ever and 10 being a "must have" tool. Prices listed are approximations of full retail at the time this article was written. The prices may not reflect your local or mail order prices.
