Kenn got wind of the CJ convertible in the late '80s and offered to trade a'65 K-code convertible as an even-up swap. At first, the owner turned the deal down. But Kenn persisted, pointing out that the CJ was in pieces. The man finally relented and traded.

Now everyone knows the rarity factor of a big-block Cobra Jet in one of the "little" Mustang convertibles of 1968. Kenn has a Marti Report revealing 23 CJ automatics in the convertible body style. Furthermore, Ford painted exactly one in Gulfstream Aqua.

The convertible's restoration was finally completed this past summer. Kenn first showed the car at the All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and then in Tulsa at Mid-America.

Bill Sledge got to meet current owner Kenn Funk at Tulsa. We were there for the reunion of Bill and his wife Penny with their old "dating car."
